The Polymathematica logo is taken from Leonardo de Vinci's designs and sketches for a flying machine. The machine is very reminiscent of the helicopters of today. Although Leonardo cannot be said to have invented the helicopter, he was a true visionary and polymath in his works.

The rest of the logo represents the relationship between science, engineering and invention. The three disciplines are bound to each other, output from each feeding into the others. These are the principles that lie behind Polymathematica's coherent philosophy and diverse activity.
